NEW NERDWALLET STUDY RANKS PLEASANT PRAIRIE THE SIXTH BEST PLACE IN WISCONSIN FOR HOMEOWNERSHIP
NerdWallet, a consumer protection advocacy website, recently researched the best places for homeownership in Wisconsin. The company considered 85 municipalities in Wisconsin with populations greater than 10,000 residents.
NerdWallet ranked the Village of Pleasant Prairie as the sixth best place in Wisconsin to own a home based on an 81.4% rate of homeownership, median monthly home owner costs of $1,861, and a 2.8% rate of growth between 2010 and 2012. NerdWallet’s findings also make mention of Prairie Springs Park, Lake Andrea and RecPlex.
Other nearby municipalities listed in NerdWallet’s ranking included Franklin and Pewaukee. To read more about NerdWallet’s ranking and methodology, visit http://www.nerdwallet.com/blog/cities/best-cities-homeownership-wisconsin/.
In November of 2013, NerdWallet also ranked Pleasant Prairie the ninth best municipality in Wisconsin for raising a family based on the public school rating, median home value, ongoing cost of homeownership, median income and economic growth http://www.nerdwallet.com/blog/reviews/best-towns-wisconsin-young-families/.
“NerdWallet’s ranking is great a confirmation of the planning and work the Village has undertaken over the last several decades and continues today,” explained Chris Christenson, Communications Director for Pleasant Prairie. “The people who live, work and play here really care about the community. It’s a great place to live, and it’s nice to know that people in other parts of the country can see that too.”
