Pleasant Prairie Fire & Rescue is pleased to announce that Lieutenant Aaron Longrie has been promoted to the position of Assistant Chief of Fire & Rescue. The promotion became effective on June 20, 2016.
Assistant Chief Longrie is a 20-year veteran of the department. Longrie holds numerous certifications in fire, rescue and emergency medical services disciplines. He has been a member of the Kenosha County Specialized Response Team - Hazardous Materials (KCHRT-HAZMAT) since 2010 and has been a Team Training Officer since 2012. Longrie has been the designated training officer for Pleasant Prairie Fire & Rescue since 2011. He also serves as a Firemedic Associates Degree Instructor for Gateway Technical College.
Longrie, who is married with four children, also spends time volunteering with Little Leaguers of Kenosha and RecPlex basketball and baseball programs. "Aaron's experience, abilities, and dedication are an incredible asset not only to Pleasant Prairie Fire & Rescue but to all who live and work here," explained Chief of Fire & Rescue Doug McElmury. "The department would like to congratulate Aaron on his promotion. We look forward to his future service to the community as Assistant Chief."
