On Sunday, June 5, 2016, top youth and junior athletes from around the country will participate in the Pleasant Prairie Cup. The Pleasant Prairie Cup is one of five national triathlons for youth and junior athletes, and top finishers will be able to qualify for the Youth and Junior National Championships being held in Ohio during late July.
On Sunday, June 5, to provide for the safety of all involved, County Highway H (88th Avenue) will be closed to through traffic between Bain Station Road and 95th Street from 6:00 a.m. until approximately noon. Residents along this stretch of road will be allowed to travel to and from their homes, but only in the northbound direction, provided great care is used.
Residents and businesses in the area of this closure are asked to please plan ahead for the closure. Barriers will be placed at the two intersections, and the intersections will be staffed/monitored for a safe flow of race traffic. All pets that are outdoors and adjacent to the race course should be leashed.
Local law enforcement and volunteers will work to ensure a safe and satisfying experience for participants, spectators, and the community. All are invited to be spectators at the race in order to offer encouragement and support for these young athletes. More information is available at RecPlexOnline.com.
