FINAL DEVELOPMENT PLANS APPROVED FOR NEW MULTI-FAMILY BUILDING IN PRAIRIE RIDGE AREA
On Monday, June 6, the Pleasant Prairie Village Board considered and approved final development plans for a new multi-family housing development proposed on approximately 3.35 acres in the Prairie Ridge area north of 97th Court and west of 94th Avenue. Related plans were previously considered and approved by the Pleasant Prairie Plan Commission on May 23.
Plans call for the construction of a multi-family apartment building with 60 total units (one- and two-bedroom units) with 60 underground and 63 surface parking spaces. Current projections indicate that there will be an average of 2.34 persons (or fewer) per unit with an approximate total of three school-aged children expected to live in the building.
The development, proposed by Lexington Homes Inc. of Green Bay, will have security monitoring via cameras and an access key system. All units will be leased at market rates; no units will be subsidized. The project will be operated in a similar manner to Lexington Home's Cobblestone Creek development, located to the northeast of the new building.
Access to the multi-family building will be available from 81st Street and 96th Avenue. Work on the project is expected to begin this month. Lexington Homes hopes to begin leasing units during the summer of 2017.
