SITE AND OPERATIONAL PLANS APPROVED FOR STORAGE BUILDING AT PRANGE MUNICIPAL CENTER
On May 2, the Plan Commission approved site and operational plans for the construction of a new 65,664 square foot storage facility at the Prange Municipal Center (8600 Green Bay Road). The new storage building will be constructed from pre-cast concrete and will be fully sprinklered. It will be located at the current residential compost site.
The compost site will be reopening at a new location on June 6 to accommodate construction of the storage facility (information was included in the April issue of the Village Newsletter available here).
The new storage building will house equipment and vehicles that are currently being stored outside due to lack of space in the existing covered storage buildings. The storage facility will be heated to 50 degrees during the winter months to keep the mechanical components of the larger equipment, such as snow plows, from freezing in order to improve their performance and prolong the life of the equipment. Equipment that will be stored in the new building includes: snow plow trucks, plow blades, light duty vehicles, and other seasonal and general public works equipment.
