PLEASANT PRAIRIE PROFESSIONAL POLICE ASSOCIATION HOSTING SHOP WITH A COP FOR SCHOOL SUPPLIES DURING AUGUST
Due to the generous support of the community, the Pleasant Prairie Professional Police Association is expanding its Shop with a Cop program to include Shop with a Cop for School Supplies during the month of August. Shop with a Cop for School Supplies will be run in a similar manner to the holiday Shop with a Cop program and is intended to help ensure that local children have the proper supplies to be successful in school.
Children from underprivileged families will pair off with a Pleasant Prairie Police Officer and select the necessary school supplies for their academic year. "This program is another chance for children to interact with police officers in a positive way," explained Police Chief David Smetana. "More importantly, it ensures that children are prepared for school. I'm very proud of our officers for their efforts to engage and assist local youth."
The Pleasant Prairie Professional Police Association is now accepting donations in support of this year's Shop with a Cop programs. 100% of every donation directly supports the Shop with a Cop events. Members of the department wish to sincerely thank all those who have been so generous in the past with support for this program. Those wishing to donate may do so in person or by mail at the following address: Pleasant Prairie Professional Police Association; Shop with a Cop; 8600 Green Bay Road; Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158.
