PUBLIC INVITED TO PANEL DISCUSSION ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 11
DANGERS OF PRESCRIPTION DRUGS: WHO'S AT RISK?
On Tuesday, October 11, 2016, the Pleasant Prairie Police Department, along with the Kenosha County Substance Abuse Coalition and the Kenosha County Division of Health, will be hosting a community discussion on the topic, Dangers of Prescription Drugs: Who's at Risk.
This informational resource meeting will be held in the Auditorium at Pleasant Prairie Village Hall, located on the south side of the building at 9915 39th Avenue. From 6:30 until 7:30 p.m., panelists, including Kenosha County Deputy District Attorney Michael Graveley, Walgreens Pharmacist Dino Gallo, and Amanda Tuura from the Kenosha County Division of Health, will discuss different aspects of prescription medication, from use through abuse, in addition to treatment options.
Those wishing to attend the discussion are asked to RSVP to the Hope Council at 262-658-8166 or [email protected] by Thursday, October 6. This will allow organizers to better plan for the discussion.
October is National Medicine Abuse Awareness Month. According to 2013 statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more people died of overdoses than motor vehicle crashes or firearms, and more than half of these overdoses were due to prescription painkillers and heroin.
