PLEASANT PRAIRIE MUNICIPAL COURT STATE OF EMERGENCY REVISED PROCEDURES
UPDATE AS OF SEPTEMBER 4:
“In person” court appearances through January 31, 2021 will be replaced by several alternatives.
If you wish to contest a ticket you may plead “not guilty” not guilty by mail (Pleasant Prairie Municipal Court, 9915 39th Ave., Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158) or e-mail before your court date and you will receive a notice of a pretrial conference at a later date.
If you want to plead guilty or no contest you can simply pay the citation before your court date, click here. If you can’t afford to pay it now, send a note explaining your circumstances and the judge will review it and respond to you.
While this should eliminate the need for almost all court appearance anyone who wants to appear at the regularly scheduled time may do so online or by phone. Instructions for online or phone appearances:

Citation for failing to carry and exhibit a driver's license [343.18(1)] or no proof of insurance [344.62(2)] and had a valid license or insurance at the time of the alleged violation
You are excused from appearing in court by mailing (9915 39th Avenue, Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158) or
e-mailing a copy of your citation and proof of your valid license or insurance to the court. You will be notified either that the citation was dismissed or you will need to appear at a later date.
Citation and wish to plead "not guilty"
You are excused from appearing in court by mailing (9915 39th Avenue, Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158) or
e-mail your plea of not guilty and a copy of the citation or the citation number before your court appearance. You will be notified of the time and date of a pretrial conference.
Citation and wish to pay it or wish to plead guilty or no contest but can't pay at this time
Payments may be made by mail (9915 39th Avenue, Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158), or with a credit card by telephone (844) 399-5255 or
online here. Payments may also be placed in the Village Hall drop box. If you wish to plead guilty or no contest but cannot pay at this time you may mail, fax or
e-mail the court (see below). You will be given 60 days to pay. You may ask for additional time if needed.
Document to file or other business with the municipal court not mentioned above

Missed court appearance
You were probably found guilty by default and a statement was mailed to you. If you want the court to reopen your case you may mail, fax or E-mail your request (see above). Unless you missed a trial or evidentiary hearing the request will be summarily granted without a court hearing if received within 21 days of the missed appearance.
These temporary procedures are intended to minimize personal contact and potential spread of infectious disease. During the emergency period the Court encourages the use of audiovisual or alternate means ,of transacting business and will attempt to make reasonable accommodations upon request. Anyone who wishes to appear by audiovisual means should make his or her request prior to the hearing.
