The Village of Pleasant Prairie is implementing a strategic succession plan for the leadership role within the Community Development Department. This plan coincides with the anticipated mid-2024 retirement of Jean Werbie-Harris, who has held various key positions, including Community Development Director, Planner, and Zoning Administrator, for Pleasant Prairie since 1989.
Jean Werbie-Harris has supported community growth and development in Pleasant Prairie for the last 35 years, overseeing the Village's planning, zoning, and development efforts. She contributes significantly to drafting and administering numerous municipal ordinances, including the Village's Comprehensive Plan, Land Division and Development Control, and Zoning regulations.
In preparation for a seamless transition, the Village of Pleasant Prairie is assembling the job application for the new leadership position. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with Jean Werbie-Harris during the transition period to ensure the seamless operation of the department, with a strong focus on preserving the Village's long-term vision for economic development and comprehensive community growth strategies.
The Village of Pleasant Prairie is committed to conducting a comprehensive and equitable recruitment process. The official job application will be posted to the Village website in the near future to invite qualified applicants to apply for the new leadership role. This recruitment process aligns with the Village's broader strategic succession planning initiative, which assesses departmental staffing needs, upcoming retirements, and the best approach for replacements.
