At the Pleasant Prairie Village Board meeting on March 24, contracts were awarded for the 2025 Paving Program and the Carol Beach Unit 1 Water Main Relays and Drainage Improvements projects. The proposed projects include various improvements to the designated areas, such as:
- Carol Beach Unit 1, relaying water mains and improving drainage on 11th Avenue and 111th Street, followed by the resurfacing of 9th Avenue, 10th Avenue, 11th Avenue, 111th Street, and 114th Street.
- Carol Beach Unit A, resurfacing 8th Avenue, 11th Avenue, 97th Street, 101st Street, and 102nd Street, with intersection modifications at 8th Avenue to minimize the pavement replacement area.
- Resurfacing 52nd Avenue, 55th Avenue, and 106th Street, along with installing a storm sewer on 52nd Avenue to the south of 104th Street.
- Resurfacing 59th Avenue, 105th Street, and 106th Street, while widening 107th Street for two-way traffic.
- Installing speed humps on Lakeshore Drive to assess their effectiveness in reducing excessive speeding.
“We’re excited to work with these experienced contractors to improve these areas,” said Village Engineer Kurt Davidsen. “These improvements—including replacing a problematic water main on 11th Avenue, repaving deteriorated roadways, and enhancing drainage—will benefit residents, reduce maintenance costs, and protect the Village’s infrastructure investment.”
