All interested persons are invited to a School Board Candidate Forum to be hosted by the Pleasant Prairie Woman's Club on Thursday, March 16 at 6:30 p.m. The forum will be held in the auditorium at Pleasant Prairie Village Hall located at 9915 39th Avenue.
During the forum, candidates will be asked to address questions from attendees that were written down prior to the start of the formal answer session. The candidate forum will feature incumbents Gary Kunich and Dan Wade, along with new candidates Mary Modder and Zachary Jakobs.
Pleasant Prairie Woman's Club representative Susan Lawler will act as the moderator for the forum. Candidates will be given two minutes to speak towards why they are running for the School Board and what their qualifications are.
The moderator will direct questions provided by forum attendees to each of the candidates. If time allows, each candidate will be given two minutes for a closing presentation. The purpose of the forum is to help members of the community become more familiar with those wishing to serve as elected officials on their behalf.

PLEASANT PRAIRIE TO HOST TWO TRIATHLONS DURING 2017
Prairie Springs Park and Lake Andrea will host the Pleasant Prairie Triathlon on Sunday, June 25 and will be the host site for the Iron Girl Pleasant Prairie Women’s Triathlon Event on Sunday, August 13. The Pleasant Prairie Junior Triathlon will take place on Saturday, August 12.
Village staff would like to invite you to bring your friends and neighbors to cheer on these amazing athletes as they push past their individual and personal challenges to finish their race. Each year, sporting events in Pleasant Prairie draw thousands of visitors to the community. Director of Recreation Craig Anderson explained, “These events provide a challenging and rewarding experience for athletes and inspiring and motivational moments for spectators and volunteers alike.”
Anderson added, “Sporting events also provide a boost for local businesses, such as hotels, restaurants and other retail outlets, and they reinvest in people through charitable giving components. The estimated economic impact of summertime multisport events has exceeded $1 million for local businesses in the past. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to host these two triathlons annually in Pleasant Prairie.”
Businesses and residents near Prairie Springs Park can expect limited road closures on Sunday, June 25 and Sunday, August 13. More information will be made available closer to these events, as race courses are finalized. Members of the community are invited to join us for these events as athletes, spectators and volunteers.
