This winter season, LakeView RecPlex will be offering emergency childcare on days that the Kenosha Unified School District closes schools due to winter weather conditions (snow days). Childcare will be available for school-aged children from 9:00 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. on snow days. The fee will be $55 per child, per snow day. The fee drops to $35 per child, per snow day, if the child is already enrolled in the RecPlex after school program.
"Though we understand most parents would like to stay home with their children when school is cancelled due to severe weather conditions, we understand that circumstances don't always allow it," explained Carol Willke, Director of Recreation at RecPlex. "Working parents can rely on the RecPlex program when they don't have another care alternative." The program will provide two snacks for children throughout the day, but parents are asked to provide a cold lunch for their child. More information about the snow day care program and how to enroll is available by calling RecPlex at 262/947-0437.
RecPlex offers children opportunities for a variety of recreational experiences. Dependent upon the day and facility schedule, children have the opportunity to play games and sports in the field house, swim in the indoor aquatic center, skate in the ice arena and take part in additional activities, crafts and games.
