On September 13, the Pleasant Prairie Plan Commission approved Site and Operational Plans for Mondi Akrosil to occupy the former 168,879 square foot, 60-acre Permacel facility, located at 7201 108th Street in LakeView Corporate Park. Mondi Akrosil intends to develop the Pleasant Prairie location as their flagship plant for the manufacture of specialized silicone release liners, an example being the removable backing on stickers and nametags. The Pleasant Prairie location will compliment the company's existing facilities in Menasha, Wisconsin and Lancaster, Ohio. Mondi, with corporate headquarters in both South Africa and the UK, operates more than 100 plants in over 30 countries worldwide.

The company expects to take ownership of the property and begin equipment installation and operations within the next few months. Over time, Mondi expects to employ between 30 and 100 employees at the Pleasant Prairie location. The initial number of employees is expected to be between 10 and 50.
