Residential families with children from kindergarten to fifth grade are invited to a special ice cream social at the Pleasant Prairie Police Station (8600 Green Bay Road) on Saturday, October 5, from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
This ice cream social will allow young children and their families to meet the community police officers, participate in fun activities, and enjoy ice cream. Activities will include an introduction to the new K-9 Unit, Chase. The children can create welcome signs for him. The welcome sign will read “Hello Chase” and will be displayed in the Police Station.
Police Chief David Smetana and School Resource Officer Mikal Sexton will introduce the new Pleasant Prairie Police Officer Trading Card Program. Children can collect the trading cards which contain a photo, biography, and list of hobbies of the officer. The card is similar to a baseball trading card. Families will have the opportunity to learn more about the trading cards at the event.
Come enjoy ice cream with your community police officers. Families are asked to register for the event, sponsored by the Pleasant Prairie Police Appreciation Association, by emailing
